Rufiji River Camp – Selous Game Reserve
The seasonal Rufiji River Camp enjoys an enviable location high up on the banks of the Great Rufiji River. The Selous Game Reserve itself is dominated by the mighty and sprawling Rufiji River that flows through this serene wilderness, so what better place to stay than right along the banks. Here the spectacular evening sunsets are chorused by hippos grunting, and by a plethora of bird song, especially when the river is high and it is supplemented by an abundance of migrant species. The Rufiji River Camp is heavily involved with the Foxes Community and Wildlife Trust who both assist and operate health, education, community support and orphanage programs in Southern Tanzania by supporting many of these vulnerable local communities.
